Lindsey Cotton is my hero

At 8 in the morning, Lindsey, Andy, Addie, and I went out to get some pix of Addison. She is usually smiley and giggley at home, but I guess the great outdoors just had too many interesting things to look at. So, not very many smiles, but lots of sweet contemplative and mischevious looking faces. Enjoy!

Andy...the bird whisperer

This was the scene yesterday in the front yard. Andy was about to mow, but found this teeny-tiny little feather-free bird flopping around in the grass right under it's nest.



Andy, being so resourceful, called animal control. They said all they could do was put the bird down. How harsh. So then he called the Zoo. They called back about 5 minutes later and told Andy to just pick up the bird and put him back in the nest. The mom might fly away, but she would come back. Sure enough, she did. And the sweet little birdie was happy in it's home with all it's brothers and sisters.

Mama Dee and Coffee

What a fun week we had! Mama Dee came to visit/babysit so I could go to a workshop. Addison had such a fun time...here are a few of the week's highlights!

Unfortunately, Addison was sick for a few days and not her usual jovial self. She was fussy and had a fever. So pitiful.

One of our favorite places in the house. It was pouring outside, and I guess it was so tiring looking out the window that Addie had to rest her head!


We love Mama Dee...she's crazy!


Addison has started feeding herself (just a little bit and not very effectively. But, she sure is trying. She especially loves her wagon wheel snacks, they are easy to handle and soooo yummy.

And now for a diversion from my usual baby posts...
Kudos to my pruning job on the rose bushes. I think they liked it. Here they are in full bloom and smelling so yummy!


And here is the result of a naptime project (Addison's naptime, that is). This flower bed has come a long way since the grass filled non-existent bed when we moved in. Aren't my little dwarf nandinas cute!?


And here are the little friends that Addie loved to chase around the house this week. She giggled more this week than ever!

With Addie's 9 month b-day right around the corner, we have been reminiscing about the teeny tiny baby that has grown into an exploring, crawling, giggling, screaming, splashing bundle of joy. We love this girl, so here is a tribute to her little life thus far.

I Love Meryl...and Happy B-Day Andy!

Well for Andy's 27th birthday (today!), we went to see the infamous Merle Haggard in concert. (It was the next best thing to the late Johnny Cash, God rest his soul.) I think watching the interesting array of people that come out of the woodwork...or maybe faux wood paneling...was possibly as entertaining as the show. I think what made it all worth it was, as we were sitting in our seats waiting for the show to start, two ladies walked by. Picture it with me: lots of hairspray, bad blonde dye, matching AIR BRUSHED t-shirts that said "I LOVE MERYL!" in large hot pink letters. Andy responded with a loud, "Who's Meryl?" I thought he was going to fall out of his chair. It made the night totally worth it. So here's a little tribute to good ol' Meryl...I mean Merle. Great show.


And here's a birthday shout out to my main man. He is my very best friend, the best daddy in the world, and an amazing husband. He is kind, sweet, generous, compassionate, so much fun to be around, and totally hot:) He keeps me grounded while making me laugh. He is my soul-mate and I am so thankful to have found him. I love him more and more each day. Happy birthday, old man. I love you. XOXOXOXOXO

Adventures at home

Once we got home, we have had a bunch of fun, too. (Not quite as exciting as Tennessee, but we try)

here is our chocolate lab, Lucy, with her new shoes on. Something I wanted to try to keep her from her constant licking (she has some sort of allergies that we can't seem to find the treatment for:)


Trying on our new swimsuit, getting ready for our trip to the beach this summer! Woo hoo!
