Tennessee in September!

A little late in the posting, but here are a few of the highlights of our trip to visit Andy's parents at their new house in Tennessee. After riding on the airplane, Addie arrived to find an airplane of her very own to fly/ride around Gran-ma and Gran-pa's house!

Working in the kitchen with gran-ma!

Family pix on the deck in our new Tennessee stuff. Yes, this is the view from the entire backside of Gran-ma and Gran-pa's house. Their house sits on the top of a ridge overlooking the Cumberland Plateau. It's a rough life in Tennessee.

I love Tennessee!!!

In true Gran-ma and Gran-pa style, they had fun stuff planned each day. We did some shopping, went out to eat, got together with friends, rode their boat down the Tennessee River through downtown Knoxville, and even went to sing Karaoke at a place called "Scruffy's." (And yes, that actually happened.) Here are a few shots from the boat ride...
Gran-ma and Addie:)

In front of Neyland Stadium....the Tennessee football shrine. (j/k, we only speak reverently of Tennessee football in our house. I think my sister-in-law would hunt me down otherwise. Love you, Manda!)

Addison is really growing up fast. I figured she wouldn't be driving a boat till she was at least 3.

We stopped right by U.T. and docked so we could take a walk by the river. Addison, of course, found a flock of ducks to feed. Addie the duck whisperer.

She looooved this boat ride!

Yes, this is actually what the river looked like. Beautiful.

Gran-pa and Addie enjoying the ride!

Addison will play cars ANYWHERE. Here is the evidence. Yes, she is actually playing cars while the boat was going full speed. So cute.

Another fun outing we had was to the Tennessee Valley State Fair. It was beautiful and Addie had a great time. Here are a few shots...

Smokey did not fair any better than any other large costumed mascots. We tried. It turned out how I thought it would. Screaming.

Whoa. What is that?

I don't know, but I like it!

Their petting zoo was great.

Even daddy enjoyed himself.

Check out the name on this one.

Gran-pa and Addie in front of the ducklings.

Come here goat. Come here!

The only cow Addie would approach (until the last picture.

She was so excited to pet a baby albino Wallaby. (They had an Australia exhibit with Kangaroos, Wallabys and wallaroos).

Manda and Addie riding the rides.

Addison SCREAMED when the merry-go-round stopped. We had to carry her out of this one:)

As we were leaving, we passed by the Live Birthing Center from the U.T. Vet school where a calf was born about 3 hrs. earlier. It took a couple of times to get her in there, but Andy coaxed her into touching the calf. She still talks about touching the baby cow.

Oh, my fingers are tired from all this blogging. I'm a blogging sissy. We'll see if I have enough endurance to post my halloween pix. If they don't happen today, wait on pins and needles. they will be coming soon.
